How does Group Judging work?
Each variety still competes individually. For example: Group 1 Self
Black Senior Buck
Senior Doe
Junior Buck
Junior Doe
Best of Variety and Best Opp of Variety are still selected and legs issued for the wins according to current ARBA rules.
Repeat Process for Blue, Blue Eyed White, Chocolate, Lilac and White.
At the conclusion of judging each of the above varieties, a Best of Group will be selected from the Best of Variety animals and a Best Opp of Group will be selected from the animals of the opposite sex. Legs are issued for group winners in addition to the legs awarded for variety wins.
This process continues for the remaining groups. For the selection of Best of Breed, all of the Best of Group and Best Opp of Group will compete for Best of Breed and Best Opp of Breed.
The animals that would win Best of Breed and Best Opp of Breed would still be the same animals that would win under the Group Judging.

The new group process :
- Eliminates the number of animals that need to be held for Best of Breed judging. Only the Best of Group and Best Opp of Group animals will be held instead of numerous varieties.
- Reduces the number of times an animal is handled by judges at a national or convention
- Increases opportunity for animals to earn championship legs.
- Mirrors the judging process of Netherland Dwarfs
